Hail to New Tune Money CEO. Joyce Lai
more
Joyce Lai, who was formerly AirAsia Bhd's regional communications head is a new chief executive officer (CEO) of TUNE Money Sdn Bhd.
According to Tune Money director Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes via Business Times,"She just took over on Wednesday, in line with our vision to have a CEO with a marketing background to drive the company,"
The position had been left vacant for a month, after Tune Money's former CEO Tengku Zafrul Aziz left the company last month.
Fernandes said that Tune Money turned profitable last month, raking in some RM600,000 in net profit and would hit its profit target of RM12 million by year-end."We are also in the process of seeking necessary approval to roll out our financial services in Thailand and Indonesia. However, we will maintain it as a single portal," he added.
Tune Money currently offers general insurance products and prepaid Visa cards."We have also brought back plans to launch unit trust funds, but we will do it once the market has stabilised," Fernandes said, after a site visit to AirAsia Bhd's new airport, KLIA East in Negri Sembilan.
Also in the pipeline is a new deal with stakeholder CIMB Group, regarding Tune Money's prepaid card, Tune Card, but Fernandes declined to elaborate.
CIMB Structured Investments has a 25 per cent stake in Tune Money.
Fernandes said synergies between the Tune companies were imminent, as Tune Talk Sdn Bhd will provide mobile banking facilities for customers seeking to buy Tune Money products.Brief History

Breaking the Habit: How to Stop Using Your Credit Card
more
Image via Wikipedia
You know your debt is rising, but still cannot stop
using your credit card for purchasing items. Several
people get easily dependent on credit cards for
everyday expenses and impulsive buys. The fact that
you are borrowing money from the creditor for your
purchase might be tempting, but the truth is: you must
be able to pay it off on time. Neglecting those bills
can cause headaches in the future. You might get
malicious letters from your creditors, or even receive
threatening telephone calls.Close, Shred and Leave
If you really want to avoid those from happening all
together or if you are starting to drown in your debt,
you have to stop credit card usage. Fortunately, there
are several ways on how to.Firstly, many people would agree that closing your
credit card account is the best way possible. One and
simple call to your cardholder is sufficient enough to
inactivate your credit card. Doing so might even quiet
down that nagging feeling and desire to purchase items
using a credit card. Just think that there might be
one situation wherein the clerk says your credit card
has been denied; the embarrassment from that situation
is reason enough for you to inactivate your credit
card.Shredding is also an excellent way to break the habit
completely. You can use an office shredder since it
works great on plastic as it does on paper. Since your
credit card is shredded into pieces, there is no way
that you can swipe it. However, if you do not have a
shredder, scissors are great too. Just cut the card
into small pieces and make sure that the credit card
number cannot be identified by potential thieves.Another excellent way to stop using the credit card,
especially when you go out of the house, is to leave
them. If closing or shredding is not your style, try
taking your credit card out of your wallet when you
are about to go shopping. In this way, if you have the
urge to buy something you really do not need, you have
to think twice before buying it since you are about to
use your own money. The Shock and What Your Can Do About It
You have been using your credit card for your expenses
but have you ever thought about the total amount of
cash you spend in interest alone each year? More so,
the duration of time it will take you to just pay off
your credit cards might shock you. It is all about the
numbers and these will put you into shock and can make
you think twice before using that credit card again. For instance, if you have a balance of $1,000 and an
interest rate of 14%, it will take you about four and
a half years before you can pay it off; that is, if
you are making $25 in payments every month. By the
time you pay off the balance, you will have paid a
total of $347.55 in interest.Since you know what credit cards ca n do, you might
want to stop using it once and for all. Learn how to
say "no" since this kind of discipline can help you
stop impulsive buys, thus stopping the use of credit
cards. Always think twice about swiping that credit
card for your purchases and you would not have to
think about repairing your credit in the future. -

Have you ever heard of your friends/colleagues/relatives talk or share about how to start making money on the Internet?more
Whatever your response to that maybe, at this point in time while you are reading this article, I would like to assure you that some dummy out there (just like you and me) is making some money at this very moment.
Besides the high-profile Internet marketers whom you read about earning millions of dollars every year, they sound too good to be true and more like a fairy-tale. Well, it's not unusual to feel that way as you are not alone.
However, people often overlook the fact that these successful Internet marketers did not start off being a success story the moment they were born. They started off as ordinary individuals who started off with the intention of starting an online business to provide them with an additional source of income to supplement their expenses.
There were so many occasions which these very people actually wanted to give up on the idea of making money online totally. Why is that so? As you have guessed, they are completely clueless on how to start making money on the Internet and they feel they are going nowhere.
The good news is that the "Never Say Die" attitude and enduring human spirit triumphs! They strive on and kept on trying different things until something worked. And Wala! Things start to change for the better and "WHAM", the rest is history.
You see, anyone (regardless of education level, race or religion) can start making money on the Internet, but not everyone wants to believe that Internet is actually the best tool invented for this purpose.

"Hey, I have been trying this out for 2 weeks! How come I am not making any money?"
"Help please! Is Internet marketing a scam? After 2 months, I still did not make any sales! I am going to quit."
Now, let me tell you the truth. Do you know when did I make my first sale? Well, I did not remember wrongly, it was my 16th month in Internet marketing. Thank goodness! I did not give up. If not, I will never be able to taste my first victory.

Premium Sponsors
While we link out to all sponsors as a way of thanking them for adding to our prize pool, we also wanted to thank the premium sponsors, who went the extra mile to add larger prizes to the contest.
Pinky Arcade
The 5 member team at Pinky Arcade contacted us early on to ask if we'd like to have a 160GB Sony PS3 to give away in the contest. If you are a gamer, you would notice that this system isn't released yet and it's going to be the latest model for the widely popular, PS3. No strangers to giving away tons of free prizes, Pinky Arcade has already given away huge gift cards, consoles, and mp3 players. All these given away for simply playing some free games on the site.
BadEvan's Gay Blog
Evan also joined up as a sponsor early on, not only by helping promote via Twitter, and other "new media", but also by throwing in around $1,500 in advertising, reviews, and cash.
EcoPower and EcoVista
The other day, the sales team at EcoPower sent me an exciting email. They had heard about the contest and wanted to sponsor it with some unexpected, but cool, prizes. Their EcoPower and EcoVista products help you save fuel in your automobile and electricity in your home or office. The products are pretty inexpensive, too, so they offered up three of each!

Tune Money CEO, Tengku Zafrul resign
more
Image of Tengku ZafrulHi to all my readers,
I have sad news for all of you, Tune Card holder. Tune Money CEO, Tengku Zafrul has resigned.Acording to Business Times, he stated that his resignation is due to Personal Reason. When contacted by Business Times yesterday, Tengku Zafrul confirmed he had officially tendered his resignation over the weekend, saying he had done so for "personal reasons".
I am not sure what is the real reason. He talked about Tune Money Online Unit Trust during our last meeting. Maybe it's not going to happen after all. He has done a lot for Tune Money. After this, it's going to be hard for me to forward complaints from Tune Card user to his blog.
Good Luck Tengku Zafrul :)
